Removal of icons

Decoration of little to no value. In general I am not fan of putting icons, emoticons, symbols where not needed - and I admit that it is quite subjective Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 15:48, 29 July 2021 (UTC)

I guess that makes sense. At least it's not as obnoxious and un-helpful as images in tables can be sometimes, but I agree they probably don't add much. Maybe it would help people associate the tags with the rendered icons, but I don't know if that's the case or not. So I'm not going to pretend like it is by making an issue out of their removal. --Adamant1 (talk) 17:28, 29 July 2021 (UTC)

I was actually unlinking this file File:Guest house-14.svg. I didn't look in the history, sorry if it was you who added those icons. I figured that the icons next to the links were not standard in articles and that this was from the old days of the Wiki. I would rather see descriptions next to the tags instead of icons. Also, not every tag has an icon on OSM Carto...

See for example here at File usage section - I'm going to unlink these old .png files (every OSM Carto icon has a .svg high quality version here), so I decided that it would be quicker to remove these icons from sections "See also", because it's not a place for them, than to replace every icon with the .svg file. maro21 20:18, 29 July 2021 (UTC)
