Talk:United Kingdom Trunk Roads

Can we have some 'agreed' way to tag the roads that are not trunk on the list, but do have green signs? Is there a need for a seperate tag, such as signs=green/white, or managment=HA/local or something to similar effect? Having the =trunk tag floating somewhere between the 2 definitions doesn't seem right. Ben 20:51, 5 June 2007 (BST)
I'm confused by the tagging convention. I travelled along a B road today that had green route signs. Does that make it a trunk, primary or secondary road? Packman 1 October 2007
- It makes it a "badly signposted by the local council" road, which isn't rare. B roads shouldn't ever have green signs. --Richard 13:33, 1 October 2007 (BST)
Having a discussion about this at the moment. For Scotland I think that I'm going to propose the following rules:
- Allways Signed Green then show as trunk. An exception possibly should be make if it doesn't connect with another Trunk road and isn't shown on the TS trunk road list. But probably should be discussed possibly on talk-scotland.
- Signed both Green and White - go with the TS trunk road list. I think that these will mostly be roads that have been downgraded, and signs are being updated.
- Signed white but on the TS trunk road list. Probably should be shown as primary, but merits a discussion. I don't expect any fall into this category, but there will be exceptions.
