Obvious conflict
model=* is used for the exact type classification of a product, not general design typology. Proposed_features/Fire_Hydrant_Extensions_(part_2)#New_Tags Talk:Proposed_features/Manufacturer_and_Model#Is_this_proposal_still_needed? You could use fountain:design=*, fountain:architecture=*, drinking_fountain=* (unfortunately it's fountain=drinking), etc. --- Kovposch (talk) 14:17, 11 October 2022 (UTC)
- I have to agree that fountain:design=* is probably a better choice for the key name. It didn't occur to me that it could be named in that way. Am I allowed to change the proposal or how does that work? --Davidoskky (talk) 14:24, 11 October 2022 (UTC)
- To balance, options might be: you can change now; make a section for planned changes; or leave it for a while to accept other comments. Then, a week from now, or a week before vote, you announce the changes to your proposal during RfC for intermediate or final review.
Very often proposal are changed before vote, that you only see when trying to vote. That's not the best.
But as I understand, there is no strict requirement or consensus for the procedure. (you only have to do "addressing the comments and fixing any problems"; and the RfC requirement is "at least 2 weeks", can be longer), As the author, you are free to communicate and present your proposal anyhow. Of course, any consequence will appear in voting....
--- Kovposch (talk) 15:01, 11 October 2022 (UTC)- Observing I also found that design=* could apply very well to this, however it is currently defined as a description for poles and pylons carrying high voltage electricity cables. I don't know if changing the definition of such tag to also mark the design of other features, such as fountains, would be accepted. This would prevent the need of the new key fountain:design=* which is a little more complex. Do you think such change might be proposed?--Davidoskky (talk) 18:13, 11 October 2022 (UTC)
- The problem with this is design=* looks to be something that can be applied to everything else. Eg material=* is a universal concept. As you are only using it for fountains, namespacing in fountain:*=* is more organized. --- Kovposch (talk) 09:57, 12 October 2022 (UTC)
