Coverage thumbnails
I have not been getting the coverage that I anticipated when using WMS links for the GeoEye imagery. This prompted me to put up a gallery of coverage I have experienced with the published WMS links. Thank you for reviewing and revising so that everyone can be on the same page as far as what coverage to expect in JOSM via WMS. --Ceyockey 13:35, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
Imagery was loaded into JOSM at 14 km resolution, the zoomed out to 40 km resolution. The same coverage area was captured in each case (bbox 17.6993, -74.5739 X 20.9798, -71.4490).
DigitalGlobe image boundary
The DigitalGlobe image boundary seems incorrect. Coverage goes as far as Monte Cristo, DR.
Imagery-Data

Date Format ISO 8601

WMS feeds down?
Are all (or most) WMS feeds down temporarily due to the JOSM server relocation? --Ceyockey 14:53, 31 January 2010 (UTC)
Image quality
For a given area, there are sometimes multiple image sets to choose from; nowhere is this more evident than in Port-au-Prince, though there are overlaps in other parts of the country. This can make it difficult to know which of several image sets is the best for an area of interest. There are three basic measures of "best": resolution, latest (date) and clarity (free from haze, cloud cover, etc.).
I suggest that OSM Trace Matrix be used to record image quality information. The information can be added to the Comments for a particular matrix square.
Additional suggestions as to how to record this information would be appreciated.
