Where {{MainMenu}} be used?
If you look at Special:Whatlinkshere/Template:MainMenu, this template is being used on lots of different types of wiki pages somewhat arbitrarily. Was this main menu supposed to be just at the top of the key start pages? I think that was initial intention.
If we want this main menu to appear at the top of every page, there are better ways of achieving that, than putting {{MainMenu}} in the wiki text of every page.
We do also have easy control over the sidebar on the left, which could be changed to have more useful primary navigation links. See MediaWiki_talk:Sidebar

- Looking at what links here, I'd answer "Nowhere". The English pages have access to the navigation area in the sidebar (and although you lose access to "Upload", you can get there easily enough via "The map"), and the non-English pages that link here aren't in English anyway (e.g. German beginner's guide uses a translation of Main Menu at the top of the page, rather than including this one, which arguably makes some sense if there is no option for a German navigation pane to the left of here). --EdLoach 16:15, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
