Three Villages Native Tree Walk
The Three Villages Native Tree Walk is a short waymarked route through three villages near Hartlepool. It runs through Elwick, Dalton Piercy and Greatham. Native trees along the route are identified by metal signs.
Very little information is available about the route - searching the internet only turns up Hartlepool Borough Council's Public rights of Way Improvement Plan, which just recognises that very few people know about this route's existence.
It is also difficult to follow, with the route apparently branching in more than one location, and being signed at one end of a path but not the other in serveral places. It is not clear if it is a circular route or linear. Looking at the section near Elwick, it appears it may be circular, but I have not found much of the possible return route. There are small sections in Hartlepool itself.
The attached map shows the route highlighted in Blue, as far as it is surveyed at the moment.
See WikiProject_United_Kingdom_Long_Distance_Paths#Table_of_other_routes for a list of other waymarked walks.
