This is a list of different criteria that the (Perth? WA? Aus?) community uses to determine the completeness of regions of the map. Different use cases are represent by different categories.
This page is an early draft and the criteria for each category is still in flux. It also needs motivations detailed for each category, and instructions/expectations for validating completeness (in general and specifically for individual categories).
Buildings
Basic Buildings
- All buildings outlines are present (not worrying about small shelters and private carports or sheds, etc).
- Building outlines are reasonably accurately positioned and aligned with nearby features.
Detailed Buildings
- Buildings are tagged with the appropriate specific `building` tag.
- All public entrances are present on the building outline.
- Buildings are split into parts as appropriate, each tagged with `building:levels`, `roof:shape`.

Micromapped Buildings
- Building are mapped according to Simple 3D Buildings.
- All entrances and exits are present and tagged with the appropriate entrance type.

Public Transport & Parking
Basic Transport

Cars
Basic Roads
- All roads residential and above are present.
- Roads are tagged with `name` or `noname`.
Routable Road
Following on from Basic Roads.
- All parking aisles, drive-throughs and access roads are present.
- Unpaved roads are tagged as such.
- All stop signs, give way signs and traffic lights are present.
- All traffic calming features are present.
- All turn restrictions are present.
- Roads are tagged with `lanes` and `turn:lanes` and `access:lanes`.
- Dual-carriageways are split into two ways where appropriate.

Following on from Routable Roads.
- Road surfaces are tagged.
- Unusual intersection shapes and traffic islands are mapped as areas.

Basic Cycleways
- All bike paths are present.
- All bike lanes on roads are present.

- Bike paths are tagged with designations and access restriction.

Basic Footpaths
- All public footpaths connections, including crossing, are present.
- This means that if two points are connected by footpaths, there should be a footpath present connecting them,
- but the precise geometry is not necessary, and every small offshoot and bend is not necessary.
