You can use industrial=* to determine the type of an industrial facility.
Industry-related information
Industrial facilities are physical locations where industrial sector activities take place, including manufacturing, processing, and production of goods and services. These facilities are equipped with machinery, equipment, and infrastructure necessary for carrying out industrial processes, such as factories, warehouses, refineries, and others.
Note that while most industrial facilities can be covered using tags listed on this page, there are some exceptions, such as power=plant, man_made=wastewater_plant or pipeline=substation.
craft=*
craft=* is used for workshops producing small amounts of goods on demand and by order, and for the workplaces of tradespersons such as electricians and gardeners. Unlike industrial=*, the goods are often customized to the customers' needs and specially produced for them.
Some examples are
- craft=carpenter Workplace or office of Carpenters that work with timber to construct, install and maintain buildings, furniture, and other objects.
- craft=shoemaker A place where shoes, boots, sandals, clogs and moccasins are created, repaired or altered to fit personal needs.
- craft=electrician Workplace or office of an electrician which is a tradesman specialized in electrical wiring of buildings, stationary machines and related equipment.
- craft=photographer Workplace or office of a person who takes photographs using a camera.
Before using industrial=*, check if the craft key fits better.

How to map
Draw an area around the facility and add industrial=*. Often, you can also add man_made=works and landuse=industrial.
If the exact area is not known/hard to distinguish, you can also use a node. However, an area is preferred as it provides a rough estimate of the importance/significance of the facility you're mapping.
Values
Using this list, you are able to tag almost every type of industrial establishment. Included for every item is a description, a link to an example of this facility on Bing Maps Aerial View, and the count of how many of those features are currently tagged within OSM (this number is updated daily).
Note that none of those values are approved by proposal or similar, this list should not be viewed as "authoritative". It is likely that there are still many issues with those values, and this list is primarly intended as a guide.
How to search the list
To quickly find values in the list, you can use the CTRL+F keyboard shortcut and search for keywords related to what you're looking for.
Note that although the list is 'relatively' comprehensive, it may still not be possible to classify individual objects. Then a new value can be invented/added.

A natural gas processing plant is a facility where natural gas from wells is purified. Natural gas plants strip out liquids and impurities from the gas stream and send “dry” gas into the pipeline transmission system for consumption by end-users or injection into
underground storage. They also produce high volumes of natural gas liquids (NGLs), including propane,
which are used as refinery fuels and feed stocks, heating fuels, and other purposes.
