I am living in Niederwangen west of the city of Berne. While doing hiking around the Bieler See using the 1:25000 maps of swisstopo I thought: "Would be nice if I could record my tracks". That's how/why I got my Garmin Oregon 300. Having this precious piece of engineering I found that the maps cost a fortune. That's how I found OSM and why I am contributing to this project.

At the moment I am doing most of the mapping during hiking or with my bicycle. Lots of footpaths in the forests west of Berne are waiting to be mapped. From time to time I am in Germany and Denmark and I always try to have the GPS with me.
