Project to improve data about libraries in OpenStreetMap

Libraries are tagged with Tag:amenity=library. With tagwatch you can see how many libraries there are and how they are tagged - but this data is not always up-to-date. For instance at 15-Jul-2008 there were 500 libraries in Germany, at 07-Aug-2008 there are 538 libraries. You can extract only the libraries and further process the resulting OSM-file. User:Kolossos has created some scripts to process OSM, see Query-to-map. http://toolserver.org/~kolossos/osm/osm2kmlPOI.xsl extract the nodes and http://toolserver.org/~kolossos/osm/osm2kml.xsl the ways. A demo KML-file with German libraries is at http://jakobvoss.de/tmp/debibs.kml.
