Hi David, I'm curious how you'd map a way which connects a sidewalk to the road, but is not a crossing itself? I.e. the way tees into the road rather than crosses it. It doesn't feel write to tag the intersecting node as highway=crossing, since, well, it ISN'T a crossing. I almost want to call it highway=footway_link, but I know that's just silly. :) - Joshdoe 17:35, 21 March 2011 (UTC)
- Hello, I believe I understood your case. I guess that highway=crossing's meaning could be expanded to "(imaginary or not -- marked or not) footway going into a street" -- yes, it would really be a highway=footway_link, but then a crossing would be just two footway_link's connected? :) --Hanska 19:42, 21 March 2011 (UTC)
