Pub meeting
Hi Jon,
do you know if North_Surrey_Pub_Meet is still a regular meeting or was it only once in 2009? If it's still used, feel free to add a template:user group and make it appear on the user groups map.--!i! 14:05, 8 March 2011 (UTC)
- Hi Mat, there isn't a regular, scheduled meet that takes place, but every now and again we just decide to have one. They may not get added to the wiki, that's all. There isn't an official Surrey user group or anything, so feel free to delete the page if it's no longer useful. Jonathan Bennett 20:47, 10 March 2011 (UTC)
highway=turning_circle and area=*
(Re [1].) area=* prominently mentions the relationship to highway=turning_circle. I simply thought it'd make sense for someone to know about it if, for example, they were looking to map a wide road area reminiscent of a turning circle. Mrwojo 02:28, 17 December 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, the area=* page is a bit self-contradictory, and it should be made clearer that it's a last-resort, hacky kind of tag. The next version of the OSM data model and API is likely to have an explicit Area type, so this tag will become redundant at that point anyway. I'm not inclined to put the link back in, but I'm happy if you want to get the opinion of others. Jonathan Bennett 09:26, 17 December 2011 (UTC)
Missing file information
Hello! And thanks for your upload - but some extra info is necessary.
Sorry for bothering you about this, but it is important to know source of the uploaded files.
Are you the author of image File:AND-Provinces-Switzerland.png ?
Or is it copied from some other place (which one?)?
Please, add this info to the file page - something like "I took this photo" or "downloaded from -website link-" or "I took this screeshot of program XYZ".
In case that you are the author of the image: Would you agree to open licensing of this image, allowing its use by anyone (similarly to your OSM edits)?
Would you be OK with CC0 (it allows use without attribution or any other requirement)?
Or do you prefer to require attribution and some other things using CC-BY-SA-4.0?
If you are the author: Please add {{CC0-self}} to the file page to publish the image under CC0 license.
You can also use {{CC-BY-SA-4.0-self}} to publish under CC-BY-SA-4.0 license.
Feel free to ask for help if you need it - you can do it for example by asking on Talk:Wiki: new topic.
Please ask there if you are not sure what is the proper next step. Especially when you are uploading files that are not your own work or are derivative work (screenshots, composition of images, using aerial imagery etc).
Once you add missing data - please remove {{Unknown|subcategory=uploader notified January 2022}} from the file page.
