Key target=* when used with amenity=embassy

Hi, could you clarify what is the distinction between the keys target=* and country=* when used with amenity=embassy? It seems to be the same thing to me. Cheers --Jgpacker (talk) 17:11, 3 June 2015 (UTC)

The tag country=* is used to identify the sending country of an embassy or diplomatic mission. target=* indicates the targeted or receiving country. For example, the Ugandan embassy in Berlin (Germany) would get "country=UG" and "target=DE". Thanks -- Jotam 18:56, 3 June 2015 (UTC)

The receiving country is not necessarily the country where the embassy resides. Many such examples are found in Rome since most missions to the Holy See are actually located on Italian territory. In the same way, the UN mission to the DR Congo have their office in Kampala, Uganda. --Jotam (talk) 15:17, 4 June 2015 (UTC)

Proposed icons

Hi!

I've just found your icons propositions and I like them. I was not aware that there are such things, because the discussion about icons rendering on default map layer is going on osm-carto GitHub.

I am probably a man interested the most in some new icons for osm-carto, however there is strong resistance for adding new features, so I try to restrict it only for very popular ones. I started ticket covering this subject and while every 10k+ shop now has a distinct icon, there are still some 1k+ which should have one, but I'm run out of ideas and my graphic skills are pretty basic. Could you look there and say if you are interested in creating icons for some of them or just have an idea? It's not only about the shops - I also try to design for the artwork and maybe also for other important and popular POIs.

Hi,

wo steht, dass dieser Tag akzeptiert ist? Das verlinkte Proposal nennt diesen Tag nicht. In Anbetracht der Tatsache, dass der Tag weniger als 100 Mal vorkommt und es schon DE:Tag:amenity=archive gibt, ist das vllt. überflüssig?
