Orienteering
I have noticed that you have taken interest in the Orienteering tag on sport=orienteering. I suggest that you improve the definitions of that tag. I would do some more there as well, but my time is limited, and the sport=* have low priority for me. --Skippern 10:37, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
Bitte nimm dazu Stellung. --elmada 10:27, 8 March 2010 (UTC)
- OK, not for Germany. Can you propose a good name for the category? I can automate the change. --Kslotte 10:30, 8 March 2010 (UTC)
--elmada 10:52, 8 March 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry, but I don't understand german good enough. I'm asking for help at Talk:WikiProject_Cleanup#Image_categorizing. --Kslotte 11:02, 9 March 2010 (UTC)
- Translation: Up to now active mappers use the Category:Trail markings, because there are trail markings, that are use in several european countries identically or similar (e.g. pilgrimages, european long distance trails). Slightly varying similar symbols (see Jakobsmuschel - shell of Camino de Santiago ?) are placed next to each other in the list of symbols. Creators of hiking maps can use the list for instance to choose the best suited symbol for their map. --Lulu-Ann 21:59, 11 March 2010 (UTC)
- But those comments still doesn't give any indications how to categorize the trail markings better. I will revert the changes and let's then figure out what type of categorizing suits best. Finding a specific marking of 700 isn't easy. --Kslotte 13:33, 12 March 2010 (UTC)
--elmada 14:11, 12 March 2010 (UTC)
- Rollback done of the changes. --Kslotte 21:27, 12 March 2010 (UTC)
Rejected features
Do not be so rude as to remove my text on "Rejected Features" without even attempting to contact me and explain what you disagree with.
All of these statements are accurate:
- "Rejected" in this context only means that they have failed a wiki vote. - Given that a wiki vote is precisely how the "rejection" is arrived at, you need to explain what else it means if you disagree with this.
- "Approval" does not have any bearing on whether the feature is rendered by the popular Mapnik, Osmarender or OpenCycleMap renderings. - It expressly says this on the Proposed features page. Go ask the developers of the respective styles if you need confirmation.
- The majority of OSM contributors do not vote on tag proposals on the wiki. - Trivial to substantiate; look at the Statistics page for the number of active contributors we have, currently over 5,000 in a given week. Contrast with the <30 voting on the wiki in a typical week.
- There is nothing to stop you using any of these tags - Again, trivial to substantiate; I can go into Potlatch, press "+" and use the tag if I want to. You will even find that some of the editors have presets for tags that feature on the Rejected features page (Potlatch, for example, has shop=chemist).
- you may find that many OSM users are already using them - Again, go look at Tagwatch, Tagstat or OSMdoc if you want to substantiate this. shop=chemist, for example, has 2,700 uses according to Tagstat.
- ...despite whatever vote has been cast on the wiki (typically by fewer than 30 users). - The majority of recent votes on the Approved features page have fewer than 30 votes; go look.
I have restored the text. If you want to remove it then you will need to explain which of the above is inaccurate.

- @editing waring at Rejected features. You are partly right with your statements. But, I will not start to argue with you. We both knows your opinion about the wiki voting process. The point of the map features in the wiki is guide users to use same tag for the same thing. The impression a user get from your text is that they can use whatever tagging they want. That will end up in a mess in the long run. The process exists and is meant to be used, until there is better one to be used. The current text is to aggressive against the voting process. I hope you re-write it into something that can be accepted by users for and against the voting process. --Kslotte 10:45, 30 March 2010 (UTC)
- No, the process is not "meant to be used". The process is there to be used by those who want to use it. If it were an official project policy, then the Foundation would have requested that the developers of renderers and editors abide by its decisions. They haven't. Feel free to lobby the Foundation if you'd like to see them do this, of course!
- If you want to see a balance on that page, I think you need to start by renaming it from "Rejected features" to "Features that have not passed a wiki vote", i.e. recognising that there is no formal rejection by the project. --Richard 11:39, 30 March 2010 (UTC)
- How about somtething like this, in non-bold .... --Kslotte 13:58, 30 March 2010 (UTC)
In some cases a rejected map feature can be in active use and even some rejected map features may be rendered. There is nothing to stop you using any of these tags. You can check with the tools below what tagging actually are used.

Wikiteam
Hi KSlotte, saw you were very active in the wiki cleanup. So are you actually interested in Talk:Wiki#Forming_a_Wiki_Team? --!i! 16:38, 4 November 2010 (UTC)
- I have watched the page. I will not be part of a team, because it gets the feeling of obligations. I will help to improve (as before) the wiki on those issues that intrest me. --Kslotte 10:30, 5 November 2010 (UTC)
amenity=pharmacy
I see that you are the contributor who wrote this text in the Tag:amenity=pharmacy wiki page:
In the following countries pharmacies does not fill prescriptions (tag "dispensing" not filled in): Finland, ...
Could you confirm that pharmacies in Finland do not fill prescriptions, means that the pharmacist is not allowed to deliver prescription drugs ? It's hard to believe. --Pieren (talk) 16:29, 16 July 2013 (UTC)
