Hi Arlo! I don't know if editing this section is the proper way to respond, so my apologies if not.

I actually chose the name because when I initially started contributing to OSM, I planned to do it once a week. You can see how that turned out, hah. I found out about WeeklyOSM a little while after I got involved.
