Vancouver OSM Meetup
OpenStreetMap is having a first ever meetup in Vancouver to celebrate the release of Natural Resources Canada CanVec data for import. If you are interested in meeting other mappers from the Fraser Valley area, feel free to join us at 4:00 pm on July 27th at Waves Coffee House on Bute and Pender. This date was chosen to coincide with the monthly meeting of OSGeoBC (Open Source Geographical Information Systems of BC). After the OSM-centric meeting, some of us will be heading over to the OSGeoBC meeting which starts at 6:00 pm at 1177 West Hastings Street
Come on down to find out more about the import, share tips and tricks about mapping, and put a face to the usernames you see so often.

Join in for a jam-packed meet-up / mapping session. For those who have been following on the talk-ca mailing list and the #osm-ca IRC chat, there has been LOTS going on for Mapping in Canada. Mainly the CanVec Import which is happening now. The idea for this meet-up is that we will be on the #osm-ca IRC chat, as well as on Skype and available for conference calling, as well as live on uStream.tv. The aim is to try and get as many people as possible participating.
Location
- Tentative at Blenz Coffee (the one that has wifi & plugs) exact location to be verified
Times July 27th
- Tentative meet at 4pm (allows for 1 1/2 hours to go over everything) which allows for time to get to the OSGeo meeting (see below)
- Tentative 'virtual meeting' at 2pm which allows for other times-zones for Skype/video/phone & IRC
- Tentative noon (location TBD) for those who want to learn about OSM & cant make it in the evening
July 28th
