OSM has 2 tags which are synonyms. In Belgium we started with route=foot, whereas on an international level route=hiking seems to be the accepted tag for this.
We would like to change the wiki so that we can start to use route=hiking and network=hiking on all Belgian routes and networks as well.

- Even though route=foot was first, and I will probably by mistake type in "foot" instead of "hiking" several times in future since I've been using it for years, if everyone wants to use "hiking", I'll agree as well. --Eimai 11:39, 27 August 2012 (BST)
