Mapping Tasks
- Mapping: The Swat & Kabul river valley lowland areas 28014024 28014024 is one of the hardest hit areas, and contains high resolution Yahoo imagery from 2006. There are many low lying areas here that have not had road connections, bridges (pre-flood), or locations of residential populations mapped. This is a simple task to perform until more post-flooding imagery becomes available.

- Working on this task:
- Identify towns: The Pakistan map has relatively few towns labeled. Mappers may use local knowledge, or copyright-free maps such as the ones at 2010_07_Pakistan_Floods/Imagery_and_data_sources#Pre_Flood_Map_resources to mark towns. Non-mappers, use the simple tool Openstreetbugs.
- Affected towns: Read situation reports or news updates to find places affected by the flooding, and add to the list at 2010_07_Pakistan_Floods/Mapping_Coordination#Identify_Towns_Affected. That is also another place to get mapping ideas.
- Mapping Determine if the boundary relation for SPOT imagery encompasses all available imagery, or if there are any other patches. If so, add new boundaries, and flag this on the 2010 07 Pakistan Floods/Imagery and data sources page.
- More useful visualisation of available imagery resources?
- Improved visual images/map tools for mapping coordination. A simple Cake diagram? or "Matrix" tool?
- Quality Assurance Utilizing KeepRight! as a guide to identifying technical issues with highways and, thus, routing utility of the map. This appears to help in the identification of missing bridges, as well, detected as overlapping ways without an intersection. See http://keepright.ipax.at/report_map.php?zoom=14&lat=35.68051&lon=139.76404 as default start point for Asian KeepRight! (will update to a Pakistani point in a future edit).
