The tentative plans/goals for 2023

• Old mappers assemble We have around 600 (rough estimate) mapper who got introduced to OSM till 2022 and up til 2019 many of them were active. We should focus on engaging the old mapper to being them back. possible ways to engage:
  • Mapathon
  • quarter specific mapping goals, ie. map all the govt. institutions in your area in Q1 2023
  • engage the industry aka the data consumers as sponsors for the events?
• Local chapter To have a more consistent point of contact and structured community, we should go for a local chapter status
• Sandbox for new mappers We would like to introduce a new model for new/novice mapper to practice their skill in a sandbox before they go to contribute to the OSM.org main data stream. It is very important to keep in mind that this process is intended to improve the skills of the contributor, rather than making an obstacle in the contribution process. An openstreetmap-website clone with daily data reset can be a starting point and can be extended with a self hosted instance of osmcha to monitor quality.
• Country specific domain It would be nice to have a country specific domain for OSM Bangladesh once we have the local chapter status.
