A cadastre is an official map and register, maintained by government, containing ownership information for many of (or all of) the bits of land ('parcels' of land) in the jurisdiction. Note, that a Cadaster page 'is the placeholder for the description of cadaste systems in different countries'.
The International Federation of Surveyors (FIG) uses the term cadastre: FIG Commission 7 - Cadastre and Land Management. The same is 'Permanent Committee on Cadastre in the European Union (PCC)'
