CartoMobilite
CartoMobil’ite (carto.mobilite.xyz) is a collaborative map for active and inclusive mobility originally in Tahiti and Moorea, especially for wheelchair people.
For people using wheelchair this map aims at easing their movement.
Initially thought for Tahiti and Moorea in French Polynesia, (‘ite in tahitian means knowledge), this map allows to :
- share accessible places such on the same basis as wheelmap.org with more details added, plus share obstacles, toilets and wheelchair parking places (no OSM account needed)
- get information on those same items,

How it works
FAQ : Frequently Asked Questions
How to contribute to the map
There is 2 ways to contribute directly from the map:
And one other is to contribute from OSM : adding point of interest that are missing for example ! |

Where does the data go?
All the details are here : CartoMobilite/tags
|
||
I have issues with hours, how to add them?
Best choice is to use YoHours tool, and copy/paste result in the dedicated field.
|
||
I have added a note of type "Other" and can't see it in map
This note is generic and cannot be interpreted by map. Best choice is to contribute directly into OSM if you can (https://learnosm.org/en/beginner/) or wait for the data to be integrated into OSM by an OSM contributor

A shop (or any other typo of point of interest) is missing, how to add it?
The database behind the map is OSM. If a data is missing it is mainly because the data doesn't exist into OSM. Best is to add the point into OSM. Nice tutos here to learn the first steps and add your first point as new OSM contributor! https://learnosm.org/en/beginner/ |

I have added a point in OSM and don't see it in the map, why?
2 possible reasons :
CartoMobil'ite shows a selection of information that might be of interest for wheelchair people. If you want to see a new type of info please contact us.
There is about a 1 hour gap between an OSM contribution and point appearing in the map. Else contact us. |

Ressources for mapping
- osmecum for wheelchair mapping: on course or point of interest.
- Mapping accessibility tags and operation (notes vs OSM vs OpenData database)
Tested and approved? You want to embark friends with you?
A technical advice in order to accompany newbies :
- create a filter on OSMCha especially on user "CartoMobil'ite_Visitor", which is the account that sends OSM modifications, and get the RSS link to it for your webmail app,
- add a custom RSS feed of your area on your webmail software, and set up a filter/rules on it on the text "CartoMobil'ite_Visitor".
Sponsors /financial support
