Yes, Overpass QL has some text there - but far from being complete (no EBNF), comprehensible (incomplete examples mixed with XML), etc. In short: often exasperating :-( --Geonick (talk) 21:52, 3 February 2018 (UTC)

I'm a bit confused now. The Overpass QL documentation has no XML in there at all, so I'm struggling with the "incomplete examples mixed with XML" part. You're not talking about the Overpass_API/Language Guide maybe? Apart from that, there's really no EBNF available (not even for developers). Most helpful would be more detailed feedback on the Overpass QL discussion page. Mmd (talk) 22:02, 3 February 2018 (UTC)

I see that it's probably impossible to get an EBNF, but there could be still a pseudo code for the (QL) language sections. Actually I'd suggest to remove all OSM Wiki pages - especially the ones with not recommended XML queries - except for main Overpass and Overpass Turbo entries. Then to help building a good project documentation e.g. on Readthedocs. --Geonick (talk) 13:09, 4 February 2018 (UTC)
