Data Preparation
Tagging Plans
All features will be tagged with:
- addr:city=*
- addr:postcode=*
- addr:state=*
- addr:housenumber=*
- addr:street=*
- man_made=works
- name=*
- product=meat
- source=HIFLD Poultry Slaughtering and Processing Facilities
Additionally, slaughterhauses will get a industrial=slaughterhouse tag. In the orginal dataset, they are identified by the "TEXT35=SLAUGHTER, PROCESSING/SLAUGHTER" tag. Most POIs are only related to the processing of the meat - since ~10% are actually only selling of meat, they get a "fixme=check if shop=butcher fits better". Identified by "TEXT35=PROCESSING" Also, some meat warehouses are included - identified by "TEXT35=ID WAREHOUSE". Instead of man_made=works, they will get a "building=warehouse" tag and a "fixme=convert to area" tag.
In total, around 4,000 features are to be added. 3,100 are meat processing facilities, 700 are slaughterhouses and 200 are warehouses.
Changeset Tags
"Mapping chicken processing facilities" will be used as comment. This page gets linked too.
Data Transformation
In the orginal dataset, company's names are completely in UPPER CASE. This was fixed with QGIS.

Team Approach
The data size is way too small to warrant a team.
Conflation
Comflation will be done in JOSM with the conflation plugin. If a man_made=works, industrial=slaughterhouse, shop=butcher or shop=deli is near, the POI will not be uploaded.
