May be used on buildings mapped in Switzerland.
This is a the unique identification number of the building (any durable construction, firmly anchored in the ground and used for living, work, education, culture or sport) generated by GWR-RegBL-REA, which enables the building to be uniquely identified throughout Switzerland.
As well as being used directly to identify a building, it can also be used to split building=terrace using satellite imagery, each having an identifier which makes it easy to differentiate a building with several entrances from several buildings
