What is the problem that you are working to address in your community?

Kagera Region is hampered by scattered settlements and population,land conflict and insufficient internet connection leading to poor development planning in LGA and finally low opportunity for economic investments and finally poverty.
What motivates you to work on this issue?

Previous training done by Janet Chapman at MLVTC and Murugwanza had shown a giant impact addressing youth attention on the program.Youth club chapters have been established,training of mappers done at two institutions,LGA actors involved during the training,a few phones distributed to some CSOS;This has attracted addition of some places in the geo-map these at least attracted me to work on this issue in particular.

Training of 80 youth for both Murugwanza and Muleba VTC,Established 2youth clubs in both Muleba and Ngara.Distribution of 2o phones to 3 CBOs of KAWESO,RSO and ACTION when involved 10 WEOs and VEOs from LGA in Muleba.

Lack of funds for followup of the established chapters,lack of smart phones,low skills of the youth as regards OSM data.

To establish more youth chapters,more phones,Social networks groups like Whaatswap groups and linking to LGA.

Train 150 community members,purchase 3 laptops,20 phones,1projector and 1 wi-fi facility

Establish more youth map clubs in Kagera also link the project with all District Councils/LGA and also establish information sharing e-networks in Whaatsap and facebook.

3 laptops -to aid training and data storage,20 phones to be used by youth chapters,1 project for training and 1wi-fi facility for interrnet

We have involved KAWESO a women association in Kagera.Students in all colleges are 50 percent females.

Training in 21 institutions will have direct trained a minimum of 150 youth,this will train more than 1500 youth in one year.
