Arizona Ghost Tracks

List of Ghost tracks in Arizona currently documented in Open Historical Map.

Bee Line Dragway

Located on the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community outside of Mesa, Arizona.

This well regarded facility opened in 1963 and closed in 1980. Its remnants are abandoned in the desert.

Manzanita Speedway

Located in Phoenix, Arizona.

[Manzanita Speedway]

Manzanita Speedway was converted to auto racing from a dog track in 1951. It operated in various configurations through 2009.

Phoenix Raceway

Located SW of Phoenix, Arizona.

Phoenix Raceway is an active paved oval which in the past has run two different road courses, both of which are mapped in OHM.

St. Johns Grand Prix

Located at the St. Johns Industrial Airpark, St. Johns Arizona.

The St. Johns Grand Prix was a temporary airport circuit used from 2000 to 2006.

West Valley Speedway (aka Speedworld Raceway Park)

Located in Wittmann Arizona, Northwest of Phoenix.

[West Valley Speedway]

The track opened in 2006 as West Valley Speedway, closing in 2008 after operating for 2 years under the name Speedworld Raceway Park. The track was replaced by an offroad course under the same name. OHM currently contains a representation of the 1/4 mile oval; there was also a 1/5 mile oval. Need to check on whether a timely aerial is available to show the smaller oval.
