Political History Map

Proposal

A version of OSM that allows the user to view the world as it existed in the past. It will show recent events (such as the formation of South Sudan) and go back as far until the beginning of history!

Why it's useful

It will link our current political situation with the past in a useful and novel way.

Ideas for things to tag

• Political boundaries
• Major cities
• Declarations of war
• Battles
• Empire/colony relationships
