Key name

The key hazardous_materials=*, while sensible, risks confusion with the well-established hazmat=* key, which is also for a similar purpose but doesn’t necessarily conform to the same standard. – Minh Nguyễn ^💬 01:24, 26 October 2019 (UTC)

On second thought, I ended up using subkeys of hazmat=* like hazmat:flammability=2 for this purpose. The subkeys do a decent job of avoiding conflicts with transported hazardous materials. Also, I was unsure about the global applicability of NFPA 704, so these unordered subkeys will be more flexible than a single key that requires the values to be specified in a particular order. – Minh Nguyễn ^💬 05:54, 17 November 2021 (UTC)
