Levels
Use a number based level system instead of texts, not all countries have systems that can directly apply to primary / secondary / tertiary, or it can be difficult to say whether a school is one or another. By numbering, a list of values can be defined independently for each country. --Skippern 21:12, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
- With the problem above, and the "kindergarten" problem, I don't support the idea of a "level" tag. I suggest using school for primary/junior, secondary/high can be tagged "college", many of our secondary schools already call themselves this, tertiary would be university. Colleges, in the sense of general post-secondary education can still be tagged as colleges as there is little difference in the academic level. I don't support the idea of numbered values either. - Using numerical levels would be confusing (look at tracktype=* to see how bad it can be). I'd support primary|secondary values - these are widely understood in the UK. Other countries can either apply them to their system, or use their own words (kindergarten or 'high school' or whatever). level doesn't seem like the right key to me, why don't we just use school=*? This would be consistent with how parking=* is used in conjunction with amenity=parking. Frankie Roberto 22:50, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
