> Does this clearly define the difference between a tidal channel and a river or stream? Joseph - Sun, 16 Jun 2019
- Yep, I reckon that's pretty good :-)
- One minor thing though.
- Your "Example: mapping a tidal channel in mangroves with the JOSM editor"
- It would be helpful to explain what's what that we're looking at eg the tidal channel is the line of red arrows.

Quibble on the description
The description presently reads "waterway in mangroves, salt marshes and tidal flats". The tidal channel would be through rather than in. I would change it to "waterway typically through mangroves, salt marshes or tidal flats"? Warin61 (talk) 04:10, 14 July 2019 (UTC)
- "through" seems to me to exclude ones that both start and end in mentioned areas Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 10:43, 17 July 2019 (UTC)
- I think you will find tidal channels start at the low water mark, that would not then be in mangroves, salt marshes or tidal flats. If the tidal channel were in mangroves then I would think of it as being covered by the mangroves and that is not the case as it is open to the sky. But you are correct in that some tidal channels will not proceed all the way through the other feature. Other words?? adjacent, near something else??? Warin61 (talk) 23:12, 17 July 2019 (UTC)
