State of the Map Scotland 2015/Day 2
This is day 2 of State of the Map Scotland 2015.
On October 1st 2015 the University of Edinburgh's Global Development Academy will host an international public conference on maps, mapping and humanitarianism in collaboration with OpenStreetMap and Medicines Sans Frontieres (MSF). We will host presentations from MSF's Missing Maps project, as well as from the OSM community
Attendance is free, and open to the public.

Background of Openstreetmap.org
Openstreetmap.org is similar to Wikipedia except we make maps. Our map is editable by anyone using a standard web browser. We have been mapping now for over 10 years and have over two million registered users. We are expanding by doubling our size approximately every one and a half years. Our work has now been recognised by the United Nations, World Bank, World Health Organisation, United States State Department, Red Cross, Medicins Sans Frontieres / Doctors Without Borders (MSF). We have a large number of our users who are interested in Humanitarian work.
