Using taxon:family=Arecaceae is scientifically sound, a bit verbose maybe, and not yet acknowledged by renderers. An acceptable synonym for Arecaceae is Palmae, and within OSM we might argued that Palmae is easier to type and more immediately recognizable by non botanists. In the botanical world both names have the same status (nom.alt., nom.cons.), but Arecaceae is preferred.
