How to see a changeset

So say how one can view e.g., Changeset 14761667? Jidanni (talk) 03:54, 11 April 2013 (UTC)

changeset best practice

Is there a recommendation as to how small or big the changeset should be? e.g. If I change 10 water fountains in a city should I make one or 10 sets? I don't like those global changsets where two tags have been changed on two continents. Should bots split this up? If yes what rule should they follow? What are commonly used good practices on this? --ConsEbt (talk) 03:12, 25 September 2016 (UTC)

Good_changeset_comments suggests being conscious of keeping the geographic scope of a changeset limited.
  • Re: 10 fountains in a city - should be fine if submitted as 1 changeset (but larger cities may warrant breaking it down further).
  • Re: bots and geographic scope - I do not believe there is a hard and fast rule but keeping it to a country-level (or administrative level one below the country level) should work well in most countries.
I always ask the question "if this changeset needs to be reverted, how much effort will it be?". Smaller changesets tend to be easier to a) review and b) revert if there is some error.

How to revert a changeset / my own changeset?

E.g., I edited using ID and deleted a POI. Can I revert such changeset, at least when it is my own change? In which editors is that possible? Would be useful to have such info on this wiki page.

I've added a link to the documentation for the JOSM reverter plugin. I believe that's the most popular tool for changeset rollback. Of course, the second part of your question touches on whether it's ok to do that (rather than the technical dimension), which isn't as easy to answer. But if the changeset was incorrect and created by the same person who wants to revert it, that seems like a clear-cut example of an acceptable rollback. --Tordanik 22:49, 4 November 2019 (UTC)
