If the goal is to describe accurately the real world, then the eventual illegal status (plus all the other features) is something that is needed to more accurately describing that reality, while at the same time denying the very existence of an existing illegal path should be seen as refusing the real world description. It looks a bit dystopic to me to hide some parts of the real world because that existing stuff has not been authorized by some institution. Am I a really good citizen if I apply some kind of censorship on reality depending on the legal status of an item?
