This tag is completely nonsensical and extremely stupid. Factory=food is completely senseless because you can't eat a factory and it's not made out of food. Maybe it produces food though, and if so there's already the product for that with a crap ton more uses then any of these have. Plus it's actually approved. Whereas, this isn't. We don't need alternative tagging schemes for every little thing or just because someone used the tag a few times somewhere. More so because what little usage there is for these tags is completely all over the place and not at all consistent. --Adamant1 (talk) 03:18, 2 May 2021 (UTC)

food is a good example for the difference between the "main purpose" and the actual product, as a factory=food might produce different product=*s, i.e.  Nestlé and similar company=*. Also see  Factory.rtfm Rtfm (talk) 09:54, 2 May 2021 (UTC)

"Food" isn't a type of factory. There isn't really "types of factories" in the first place. Your just describing what's produced there. So product is perfectly fine. Otherwise, provide some evidence instead of just editing warring and insulting people. Also, it's worth mentioning that these industrial=tags are meant to be used in connection with the landuse=industrial tag, but they aren't. So the tag isn't used how it's intended anyway even if "food" was a type of factory. Which it isn't. BTW, I think factory=automation is a another good example of why this tag is garbage. Is the factory automated? does it make automations (whatever those are)? If it's automated, how automated does it have to be warrant the tag? Because all factories are automated to some degree. There's really no answer for those questions. Nor does there need to be, because there's already other tags that actually make sense for this. --Adamant1 (talk) 10:58, 2 May 2021 (UTC)
