What "a flag at a bus stop" is? Is it about a bus stop sign like depicted at https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/File:UkOxfordBusStopMainSign.jpg ? Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 21:25, 29 April 2021 (UTC)
- Yeah, thats exactly it. I looked on taginfo to see which tags where used with highway=bus_stop across the world, saw flag=* had some uses in England and France, so I dropped in to some of the French uses on StreetView to confirm it they all hat bus stop signs, they did. None had flags in the sense of country or state flags. I then contcated the editor who contributed most the UK uses and they also confirmed its being used for the bus stop flag. So yeah, took an existing tag, documented and added some uses —Preceding unsigned comment added by JayTurnr (talk • contribs)
- In US cities that I am familiar with, "flag" is used to describe the act of flagging down the bus to show the driver you want to board, but not a bus stop sign. It would be expected for every stop to have a sign and for the passenger to flag down the bus though so it seems like this is specific to some countries. Bgo eiu (talk) 09:56, 22 May 2022 (UTC)
