Presently inconsistent naming

The measurement of temperature is presently tagged by 'thermometer' yet there are many different thermometry methods, mercury in glass, platinum resistance thermometers, thermocouples. While previously the document said to name the instrument this was not done here. Probaly because the mappers did not know of these differences, or cared little for them. The case for naming what is measured

This is what mappers know or can find out. It does not change frequently or with technology. It is something that is commonly used and recognised by the general public, most of our end users. It is possible to name what is measured and the method of measurement, they are not mutually exclusive. Warin61 (talk) 00:37, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
