Deletion and redirect to Press Contacts - why?

Why is the reasoning for deleting the content of this page? The "Press contacts" page lists different people and, at a first glance, seems to serve a very specific purpose. --Tordanik 04:02, 24 July 2012 (BST)

I added myself to the page and then found that:

• The local-contacts mailing list no longer existed
• When I pinged User:Steve he said it was no longer used and to delete it. I suggested a redirect instead and he agreed and I need to let the 'wiki maven' know.

The local contacts seems to serve no real purpose in its current form and press contacts is probably the nearest fit. In anycase the page is not lost, any editor can revert my edit by going back to the old version in the history and edit and save. Alex Sims 11:10, 24 July 2012 (BST)
