Discuss Maplint here:
is_in tag
is_in is defined for "Node/Linear/Area", but maplint only accepts is_in for nodes, not for ways. is that intended? -- Frank 23:55, 17 April 2007 (BST)
"FIXME previously unwayed segment"
Seems like all of the ways tagged "note=FIXME previously unwayed segment" are not failing any tests in the Maplint layer at the moment. Was it always like that? Surprised I only just noticed. This is quite an issue, because I thought maplint enabled you to see the position of these untagged ways (They are effectively untagged) Most likely they were originally sketched over Yahoo! Aerial Imagery as unwayed segments -- Harry Wood 11:50, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
Waypoints for Ways
It would be useful if Maplint could create POIs in Anytown-maplint-waypoints.gpx for ways which match its rules. Not sure what algorithm would be best here; perhaps placing a POI for both endpoint nodes, or a POI the endpoint node which is closest to a central spot would be appropriate. Being able to navigate to all residential-without-ways - for example - using a handheld device would speed up delinting greatly. --achadwick 15:21, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
Warning about tagged ways/node that have no source= field =
I will also put a note about this in the trac system, but would it be possible for the maplint data to include a warning (in a suitable style) about 'tagged' nodes/ways that appear not to have a source tag.?
The reason for this request is to help ensure data is correctly sourced in OSM. ShakespeareFan00 10:50, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
How to Remove Maplint Issues
What is the proper procedure for removing the various Maplint issues? For instance, unreviewed TIGER marks... can I remove these once I've observed that the trace follows the road on the Yahoo imagery? Do I have to also review the various TIGER tags? Also, what is the appropriate technique to clear the warning? A clear explanation of standard procedures for clearing warnings/errors should be put somewhere.
