Talk:Osmosis/Quick Install (Windows)
As currently written this page isn't really useful (i.e. you can't follow it and then run osmosis). Some of the advice (e.g. to install stuff below C:\Program Files (x86)\ is questionable for other reasons too). Currently trying to figure out what it ought to say instead --SomeoneElse (talk) 11:25, 11 September 2015 (UTC)
A bit more to this - currently as packaged osmosis doesn't work on Windows (at the very least the batch file tries to access an old classworlds launcher jar, and the readme tells you to move a file that you haven't created). --SomeoneElse (talk) 11:55, 11 September 2015 (UTC)
The currently packaged osmosis (2015-10-08) refers to an older plexus-classworlds jar. The correct version is plexus-classworlds-2.5.2.jar. This needs to be corrected in osmosis.bat --User:kleppur_e15
There's a version at https://github.com/SomeoneElseOSM/osmosis/releases/tag/0.44.1.5 (library version and documentation; no actual code changes) that should work better on Windows.
The bit about osmosis.bat being broken seems to be no longer correct. I just followed the instructions exactly, didn't have to change the jar version (was already 2.5.2) and got osmosis to run without a hitch. I'd delete this bit in the article or at least change it to osmosis.bat "may" be broken Cryzeb (talk) 07:26, 27 May 2017 (UTC)
@Cryzeb that's great - I've not used osmosis on Windows for a while; so I'd suggest that you edit the wiki page if it's currently wrong. --SomeoneElse (talk) 09:23, 28 May 2017 (UTC)
