There's already a tag for that: shop=car_repair. It much more used than this key: 44.500 vs. 13! There is also shop=car + service=repair. I propose to delete this page. --Oligo (talk) 09:08, 27 July 2013 (UTC)
In Germany more than 90% of car repair are only crafts. It exists no shop for things to by for car repair. That is why i have made this page.
Hier in Deutschland existieren die meisten Autowerkstätten als reine Handwerksbetriebe. die wenigsten als shop getagten Betriebe verkaufen etwas was man dann zum reparieren eines Fahrzeugs benutzen kann. Der Beruf ist hier in die Handwerksrolle eingetragen und es kann nur ein Meister einen Betrieb führen. Autoreparatur ist der klassische Handwerksbetrieb. Also es wird immer individuell eine Handwerksleistung für den Kunden geliefert.
Selbst die großen Autohäuser in denen Neufahrzeuge Verkauft werden, dann als shop=car getaggt sind haben große Werkstätten mit vielen Handwerkern, die dann oft gar nicht getaggt werden. Es gibt aber nur ganz wenige Läden die das Material zum Reparieren eines Fahrzeugs verkaufen. Dann gibt es in jeder größeren Stadt Autoteileverkäufer, die keine Werkstatt haben und nur das Material für die Reparaturen auch an die Handwerksbetriebe verkaufen. Diese dann wie Baumärkte zu taggen hielte ich für falsch.
Klar kommt es bei so vielen Autoreparaturwerkstätten zu vielen für mich falschen Tags wenn im Wiki wie tagge ich das als shop=car_repair getaggt wird. Das wäre für mich höchstens bei Werkstätten wie ATU teilweise korrekt, denn auch dort ist hier nur immer eine Werkstatt angegliedert. Beispielhaft hier mit service=repair[1]

Ich weiß aber nicht wie das in anderen Ländern aussieht. Sicher ist es nicht richtig nur die klassischen Handwerke, wie Zimmermann oder Tischler die noch auf die Walz gehen als craft zu bezeichnen.
Betriebe die eine Leistung erbringen die von Hand individuell gemacht werden sollten auch als craft=* getaggt werden. Der Key craft=* ist genau so beschrieben.
für mich wäre also ein Autoteilehändler eher ein shop=car_repair und eine Autowerkstatt ein craft=car_repair. daher fände ich es nicht sinnvoll diese Seite zu löschen.
Leider ist mein Englisch nicht so gut dass ich damit diskutieren könnte.
von den 44.500 Tags für shop=car_repair sind 32.739 allein in Deutschland getaggt und 44.000 wenn ich eine Box um D A CH ziehe. Auch wenn diese so getagt wurden, weil die Renderer das inzwischen mit Icon zeichnen, bin ich dafür, das craft zuzulassen und werde auch nicht anders taggen, es sei denn man kann mich mit guten Argumenten dazu bewegen es anders zu tun.
Deshalb würde ich diese Seite nicht löschen.

by the 44,500 tags for shop = car_repair are tagged 32,739 and 44,000 in Germany alone when I draw a box around DA CH. Even if this were so tagged because the renderer which is now drawing with icon, I am in favor of the craft and will not allow other tag, unless you can move it to me to do otherwise with good arguments.

- I agree that repairing cars is more a 'craft' than a 'shop'. But shop=car_repair is not necessarily a shop where you buy things, it is more a service (or craft if you prefer) (see tag definition). You cannot change the meaning of shop=car_repair to "an auto parts dealer", this tag is already too widely used. Or you should tell on the shop=car_repair wiki page that the tag is deprecated and must no longer be used, but I doubt such a major change will be accepted...
