Talk:Tag:craft=rigger
Not sure we should use this tag on it's own at all. It seems to have a lot of meanings. --AndiG88 (talk) 05:11, 22 December 2014 (UTC)
- I agree. The description on the main page is different to the description in the right info box. I would suggest to remove this page from the craft=* page until this is resolved. Chrabros (talk) 12:18, 4 August 2016 (UTC)
Use of rigger
In fact there are several professions that use "rigger" to refer to themselves.
I think we should use craft=rigger only for the craftman who sets up the rigging of sailboats, sailing ships
This is the original use.
For those who work as freelance in entertainement (theatre, show, film) => the tag craft=entertainement_rigger could be used
For those in building construction (hoisting tackle, cranes, scaffolding,...) => we could have craft=construction_rigger
For one in animation (who creates the frameworks that make the characters move) => we could have craft=animation_rigger
Rigger is also used for :
- a person who works on an oil rig
- a person who is assembling the fuselage, wings, etc. of aircrafts
- a person who packs parachutes
But I'm not sure that these ones are independant they must be mainly hired by companies and it seems to be more american english. Cybereric (talk) 13:32, 15 May 2023 (UTC)
