New Description
The new description says "The central connection point of a substation"
I think this is misleading, because this tag is added to a power=line mapped as a way, not as a node, which might be implied by "point." The new description does not explain that this tag is always added to power=line. The proposal instead said that this tag "Identifies the line as a busbar assembly".
How about we combine this into "Identifies a power line as a busbar assembly, the central connections in a substation" ?--Jeisenbe (talk) 01:18, 18 April 2020 (UTC)
- There may be a confusion with power=switchgear with is often an area surounding busbars. I use it when aerial pictures don't let me draw each busbars or on building hosting them. Fanfouer (talk) 22:43, 18 April 2020 (UTC)
- I don't like the word "assembly", and I'd also like to try and make this description accessible to people who aren't very familiar with power infrastructure. I think "connection point" is still a useful description, but we should try and provide examples (including aerial imagery) to describe what a busbar actually looks like. I'll have a think about it.
