Talk:Tag:military=danger area
Only military?
Is military=danger area strictly only meant for military areas? Or can you also use it for an outside civilian shooting range? The danger is still the same. --Christoffre (talk) 20:35, 21 April 2017 (UTC)
- That is exactly the question I wanted to ask. A not militarian danger can also be a danger "to the life or health of humans". There was a discussion, as the tag is used in a rockslide area, where access to buildings, footpaths and minor roads is forbidden for more than two years now to avoid that tourists enter to the area.
- In my opinion this is correct, because the tag is called "danger area" and is only subordinated to the generic term "military", because this is the most common use in map series. --Männedorf (talk) 21:30, 23 July 2019 (UTC)
- I agree that this could be landuse=danger and danger=military / danger=rockfall / danger=minefield / danger=holes (for former gold mines, sinkholes etc). Ewen Hill (talk) 09:32, 24 November 2020 (UTC)

Temporary exclusion zone?
The military shooting range near me has an extended exclusion zone that only gets closed off (by means of temporary signposts forbidding entry) while there are exercises. Is there a tag for that and should it be mapped at all? --IByte (talk) 22:50, 13 September 2020 (UTC)
I think it should be mapped, as long as the exclusion zone is the same (or close to same) every time and the exercises occur with some frequency.
I don't know for sure if this is the de jour procedure, but that is at least the de facto mapping procedure around the area where I live Christoffre (talk) 00:19, 14 September 2020 (UTC)
