Natural or man made?

Is an avalanche dam a natural or man made feature? Wikipedia and the description in this article suggests these features are constructed as barriers rather than being a natural formation. The natural key seems inappropriate to me. This feature is not mentioned on the key pages. Is there confusion with a landslide dam? - Huttite (talk) 11:36, 30 December 2016 (UTC)

An avalanche dam is a man-made feature. It's very strange that natural=* is used here. --Dafadllyn (talk) 19:14, 16 January 2021 (UTC)
