A set of recommended tags aimed at improving the outdoor network in Thailand, with a particular emphasis on hiking, 4WD, mountain biking, and dirt biking activities.
Derived from international best practices and the minor road classification guidelines of Thailand.
Recommended Tags
Unsigned legal access keys, such as motor_vehicle, foot, bicycle, and motorcycle, should not be used to indicate the conditions of a road or path. These access keys denote legal permissions, not physical attributes, and using them inappropriately can lead to confusion and inaccurate data.

mtb:scale
Indicates the technical difficulty of a trail or segment with a mountain bike.
- based on downhill direction and favorable conditions like sufficient daylight and dry ground, independent of perceived danger or driving speed
- suitable for any double tracks / unpaved roads (0 to 1) or any paths / singletrails (0 to 6)
- can be used for dirt biking sports like enduro (0 to 3), hard enduro (3 to 5)
