GPX Sensible file sizes

Okay, discovered files which were good for Geotagging photographs are too long to OSM in terms of fair share of processing time.

Now cutting track logs down to below < 5000 points where possible.

Projects,

Highlands of Scotland - 10 years of GPS track logs, but only plan to upload tracks under 5 years old as well aware of new road layouts in certain areas of the highlands. Uploaded data which now covers over 95% of mainland A and B roads north of a line drawn between Fort William and Inverness. Example, the new two lane road (a secton of the A836 between Bettyhill and Lednagullin) runs next to and at some points 100's of yards away from the old route which is being returned to nature. Another example is the A832 between Achnasheen and Kinlochewe the recent double tracking of the road moved it 100's of yards from the old road course.

Derbyshire/Staffordshire Peak District, uploading extensive data covering white peak. Most A and B roads, along with many many more smaller raods.

Lake district, less popular areas, uploading data covering western and northern areas.

Why do people keep changing some of the single track A roads in the highlands into unclass or secondary roads??

Example, the road between Lairg and Tongue really is the A836 even though for 95% of its near 50 mile length its single track!
