Where I Am

Currently, I find myself living in the lovely suburb of Rooty Hill in Sydney, Australia. As such, I'm keen to explore the area, and what better way to do so than map it!!!

My Mapping Efforts

I've only just discovered OpenSteetMap recently - what an excellent excuse to get off my arse and walk around the local neighborhood!

I started doing a bit of mapping around the Rooty Hill area from the Yahoo Imagery using the WMS & YWMS plugins for JOSM.

Now I am the proud owner of a Qstarz BT-Q1000P. On first impressions, this little unit looks really good. The supplied windows software is really bad, but it didn't take me long to figure out how to extract the data using gpsbabel (under linux).
