Translatable templates

Hi, recently I created the category Template with translation strings. As a fellow user interested on wiki translation, please help me find the templates that should be in this category. Cheers --Jgpacker (talk) 14:56, 14 October 2014 (UTC)

Template:Translation not complete

I know you perform lots of translations to Japanese. I inform you that I am migrating several templates (that were merged partly in the English version):

The second template has been incorrectly redirected to the first one in the English version, but it ignored the parameters that were used. So I have integrated them for compatibility. Ideally the second template should be redirected to the first one in all translations (like it was done in English).

However the Japanese version was slightly modified to support them, and this certainly should be corrected. Look at Template:Translation not complete/sandbox that contains some tests for Japanese, review, and make the correction in the sandbox. If it's OK, copy it over the non sandbox version. Note: you are not required to follow exactly the same order of sentences, choose the layout that produces the best layout and understanding, as long as you support the parameters. OSM username

Hello Mfuji, while searching for some statistics on top wiki contributors, I noticed that OSM user "Mfuji" does not exist, but "mfuji". So probably your Username template has a small error :) --Jojo4u (talk) 08:29, 12 August 2015 (UTC)

Please use minor edit checkbox

Please make sure you use the "minor edit" checkbox when you make small formatting edits like your reformat of the Value description box for highway=street_lamp. The reason is that users who watch the page will receive unnecessary notifications. Thanks :)

JA:High-resolution tiles

Hi, the page is under translating. I usually copy a page before translaing. I think it is better than categorize the original page as like Category:Translate_to_Japanese. --Mfuji (talk) 09:35, 5 March 2016 (UTC)
Hmm, okay, although I do not understand why you save/create the page before there is some thing translated. Japanese users will be confused if they click on "Japanese" but get nothing Japanese. Have a good day! :) --Aseerel4c26 (talk) 10:05, 5 March 2016 (UTC)

Attribution

Hello! And sorry for bothering you, but descriptions of files you uploaded need to be improved.

You have uploaded files which are licensed as requiring attribution. But right now attribution is not specified properly.

Please, ask for help if something is confusing or unclear in this message.

Please, fix that problem with this uploads - note that images with unclear licensing situation may be deleted.

Attribution may be missing completely or just be specified in nonstandard way, in either case it needs to be improved. Note that using CC-BY files without specifying attribution is a copyright violation, which is often unethical and unwanted. So clearly specifying required attribution is needed if license which makes attribution mandatory was used.

If it is applying to your own work which not based on work by others - then you can select own user name or some other preferred attribution or even change license to for example {{CC0-self}}

For your own work: ensure that it is clearly stated at file page that you created image/took the photo/etc

For works by others - please ensure that there is link to the original source which confirms license and that you used proper attribution, or that source is clearly stated in some other way.

Especially for old OSM-baded maps, made from data before license change on 12 September 2012 you should use "map data © OpenStreetMap contributors" as at least part of attribution

For old OSM Carto maps, which predate license change on 12 September 2012 you can use a special template {{OSM Carto screenshot||old_license}}

Translation of "properties" into Japanese

What is the correct translation of the word "Properties" in Japanese? Category:JA:Properties is translated as "属性", but in Data Items (Item:Q4671) the translation has been changed to "プロパティ". -- Lenochod (talk) 20:16, 24. January 2023 (UTC)
