Greek description deletion
Hi, is there any reason why you deleted all the greek descriptions from the data items? --Yurik (talk) 23:20, 13 April 2019 (UTC).
Actually there is. Greek translations where not accurate, and our new map editors got confused. Our community will rebuild them from the ground up. For now is better for our mappers to read the English descriptions because they are accurate enough. Thank you for your concern. --Nikospag (talk) 23:45, 13 April 2019 (UTC)
- @Nikospag: thanks for a quick reply. If that's the case, please also delete them from the wiki pages -- actually if you did that initially, the bot would have automatically updated the data items, but now the bot will never touch Greek descriptions for those items again because a human edited them. I would recommend deleting all description= parameter in the Greek wiki pages, and add them just to the data items when ready. Thanks! --Yurik (talk) 00:02, 14 April 2019 (UTC)
- P.S. In the description, you can also create links by prepending keys and tags with the word "key:" and "tag:" -- this way wiki page will automatically show them as links to the correct wiki page (iD editor should support this soon as well). --Yurik (talk) 00:05, 14 April 2019 (UTC)
- --For clarification: Our newbies use the ID web editor, and automatically they see the Greek descriptions (if they exist) for keys and tags. Even if there are not translated wiki pages for these keys and tags, the web editor "pulls" the Greek descriptions from the data items directly. --Nikospag (talk) 00:22, 14 April 2019 (UTC).
- --P.S. I am aware of all that you wrote above and how your bot works. Thank you. --Nikospag (talk) 00:33, 14 April 2019 (UTC).
